Commonly prescribed skin treatments include:

-Topical medications like corticosteroid cream, antifungal ointment, or retinoids

-Oral medications like antibiotics or antiviral pills

Your clinician won’t screen for skin cancer or offer laser therapy, light therapy, or cosmetic procedures through this service.

You can message your clinician with follow-up questions for 14 days after you get your treatment plan.

• Rashes caused by eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and allergic reactions

• Viral skin infections like shingles and cold sores

• Fungal skin infections like ringworm and body yeast infections

• Parasitic skin infections like lice and scabies

• Bacterial skin infections like cellulitis and impetigo

• Chronic skin conditions like acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and eczema*

• Male pattern baldness, bald spots, hirsutism, and dandruff

• Cosmetic issues like wrinkles, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars

• Poison ivy, bug bites and stings, and minor burns

*If you've already been diagnosed with a recurring or chronic skin condition and need help managing it, you may prefer to start a message-only visit for that condition. A message-only visit may be more cost-effective than a video visit if you don't need a diagnosis or treatment for multiple skin concerns. • Skin infection accompanied by fever or chills. Fever and chills can be a sign of a serious infection that needs in-person care. You'll need to see a trusted healthcare provider like a primary care physician (PCP) or an urgent care clinician as soon as possible.

• Extensive pus or fluid oozing from the affected area. This can be a sign of a serious infection that requires in-person care.

• Allergic skin reaction (hives) accompanied by trouble breathing, swollen lips, or a swollen tongue. Multi-organ symptoms can indicate anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Please call 911.

• Travel-related skin infections. These may pose a risk of serious complications requiring in-person care.

• Open wounds from animal bites, puncture injuries, pressure injuries, or surgeries. These require in-person care as soon as possible.

• Suspicious moles or spots. These may require an in-person evaluation and a skin biopsy.

• Epidermoid cysts (small, shifting bumps under the skin), which may require an injection and/or excision from an in-person healthcare provider.

• Abscesses (collections of pus under the skin), which may require incision and drainage (I&D) from an in-person healthcare provider.

• Common warts. These are usually treated with cryotherapy (freezing).

• Extensive tissue destruction. If a foul smell is coming from your skin, you'll need to see a trusted healthcare provider like a primary care physician (PCP) or an urgent care clinician as soon as possible.

• Extensive bleeding. If you're losing a significant amount of blood, please call 911 or go to the emergency room.

• Pain or tenderness that seem out of proportion to your skin issue (with the exception of shingles). You may need to see a trusted healthcare provider like a primary care physician (PCP) for an in-person evaluation.

Eyes

If you're experiencing eye symptoms like vision changes, light sensitivity, pain or tenderness, or severe redness, a clinician won't be able to treat your eye area today. You may need immediate medical attention from an in-person healthcare provider. Eye trauma, pain, and vision changes should be monitored closely to prevent lasting damage.

Face

If you're experiencing an allergic reaction like hives, shingles (painful rash), or psoriasis (red, scaly, itchy patches) on your face, you'll need to see a trusted healthcare provider like a primary care physician (PCP) or dermatologist for an in-person evaluation.

Genitals or anus

Your clinician may ask you to describe symptoms on your genitals or anus, but you won't be asked to display these areas of the body over your video visit. If you've already been diagnosed with genital herpes or genital warts (HPV), your clinician can prescribe treatment, but they won't diagnose new sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Nails

If you have symptoms of a nail fungus like a discolored nail, you'll need to see a trusted healthcare provider like a primary care physician (PCP) for your treatment. A toenail fungus usually responds better to oral antifungal medications, which require follow-up tests to monitor liver function.

Scalp

Female hair loss and hair loss that extends over half of the scalp aren't treated through Amazon Clinic at this time. They require lab testing to determine the cause of the hair loss.

If your clinician can’t diagnose or treat your skin issue through Amazon Clinic, they may recommend that you see a primary care physician (PCP) or a dermatologist for in-person care. If that happens, you won't be charged for your visit.
