Frequently asked questions

What rosacea medications can I get through Amazon Clinic?
Your clinician may prescribe topical medications like azelaic acid gel, brimonidine (Mirvaso) gel, metronidazole cream, or ivermectin cream. They may also prescribe oral antibiotics like doxycycline or tetracycline, or topical antibiotics like erythromycin gel.

Please note: This information is for general reference only. Your clinician will review your symptoms and health history to determine which (if any) rosacea treatments are medically appropriate.
Is there a cure for rosacea?
There's no cure for rosacea, but the condition can be controlled with self-help measures and clinically-proven medications.

To manage rosacea, it's important to know what triggers your symptoms. It may help to track your flare-ups in a diary. Common rosacea triggers include the following:
• Sun exposure
• Hot or cold weather
• Hot drinks
• Spicy foods
• Alcohol
• Exercise
• Irritation from certain skin care products
• Psychological stressors
• Certain types of medication
• Menopause
Rosacea medications can be prescribed in the short-term to manage flares.
Are there different types of rosacea?
In the past, rosacea has been classified into 4 subtypes. Today, however, clinicians tend to define rosacea by its observable features.

These physical characteristics of rosacea, called phenotypes, may include the following:
• Redness of the nose and cheeks
• Papules and pustules (red or pus-filled bumps)
• Prolonged flushing
• Visible blood vessels (spider veins)
• Eye or eyelid involvement
• Phymatous changes (like a bulging nose)
In addition to these symptoms of rosacea, the condition can have secondary features like dry skin, burning or stinging skin, and skin swelling.
Can I get treatment for ocular rosacea through Amazon Clinic?
No. If you're experiencing eye symptoms of rosacea like eye irritation or eyelid swelling, you'll need to see a trusted healthcare provider like an ophthalmologist (eye doctor). Ocular rosacea may require more closely managed care.
