What's included

Personalized athlete's foot treatment plans may include prescriptions for topical athlete's foot medications like creams that target fungal cells. Your clinician may also recommend over-the-counter treatments and self-care strategies. They won’t prescribe oral antifungal medications because these require follow-up lab tests to monitor liver function. You can message your clinician with follow-up questions for 14 days after you get your treatment plan.

Based on your health information, your clinician may recommend that you see a healthcare provider in person. If that happens, you won’t be charged for your visit. Amazon Clinic doesn’t accept insurance at this time, and isn’t intended for beneficiaries of government payor programs, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Frequently asked questions

What athlete's foot medications can I get through Amazon Clinic?
Your clinician may prescribe a topical antifungal medication like ciclopirox (Loprox), econazole (Spectazole), or ketoconazole.

Please note: This information is for general reference only. Your clinician will review your symptoms and health history to determine which (if any) athlete's foot treatments are medically appropriate.
How can I keep my athlete's foot from spreading?
The fungi that cause athlete's foot can spread from body part to body part, like from your foot to your toenail, or from your foot to your groin. These fungi can also spread from person to person. To prevent the spread of athlete's foot, you can do the following:
• Treat your infected skin with antifungal medication
• Wash your hands after touching the affected area until your infection clears completely
• Keep your feet clean and dry (because fungi thrive in warm, moist environments)
• Wear cotton socks and "breathable" footwear
• Avoid reusing or sharing towels, shoes, socks, and other items that could carry infected skin
Can I get nail fungus treatment through Amazon Clinic?
Though fingernail and toenail fungus can sometimes be treated with topical medications like antifungal creams, nails usually respond better to oral antifungal medications. These aren't available through Amazon Clinic at this time because they require follow-up lab tests to monitor liver function.
What types of visit can I have?
Video visits are available in all 50 states and D.C. Message-only visits are available in 34 states. To see your visit options, first choose your state.
Can I use my health insurance to pay for a visit and/or medication?
Amazon Clinic doesn't accept health insurance for visits at this time. You can submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement, but we can’t guarantee they’ll reimburse you.

If you normally use insurance to pay for your medications, you can do that with medications prescribed through Amazon Clinic. Amazon Pharmacy accepts most insurance plans. For other pharmacies, please talk with your pharmacy directly about insurance coverage. The cost of medication isn’t included in the cost of your visit.
How does Amazon Clinic protect my health information?
Amazon Clinic protects your health information by strictly following the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA governs what Amazon Clinic and your healthcare providers can do with your medical information, as well as your contact and payment information. Amazon Clinic doesn’t and will never sell your personal information. Learn more on our privacy page.
