Frequently asked questions
What are the possible side effects of bimatoprost (Latisse)?
The most common side effects of bimatoprost eyelash growth serum are itching and redness, reported in approximately 4% of clinical trial patients. If you have light-colored eyes, there's a small chance (less than 4%) that bimatoprost may permanently darken the colored part of your eye (iris).

There's also a small chance that bimatoprost will darken your eyelids, which may be reversible. You can reduce this risk by using the medication as directed. Avoid getting this medication in your eye or on your lower eyelash line.
Is bimatoprost covered by insurance?
Probably not. Most insurance plans won't cover the cost of bimatoprost eyelash serum.
How much does bimatoprost cost?
The generic price for a 3mL bottle of bimatoprost may range from $30 to $60 with a prescription discount card. (Please note that pricing isn't guaranteed.)

A 3mL bottle contains 70 applicators and lasts about a month when the serum is used daily as directed. A 5mL bottle contains 140 applicators and lasts twice as long. Each eye requires its own applicator. Applicators can only be used once.
Are the effects of bimatoprost permanent?
When you stop using bimatoprost, you'll lose the benefits of the growth serum in a few weeks or months and your lashes will return to their previous appearance.
Can I use bimatoprost if I wear contact lenses?
Yes. But if you wear contact lenses, you'll need to remove them before you apply bimatoprost to your upper eyelid. Clinicians recommend that you don't wear your contacts for 15 minutes after bimatoprost application.
Does Latisse work on eyebrows?
Yes. Some clinical studies indicate that bimatoprost, the active ingredient in Latisse, is a safe and effective treatment for eyebrow hair loss.
What types of visit can I have?
Video visits are available in all 50 states and D.C. Message-only visits are available in 34 states. To see your visit options, first choose your state.
How can I pay for my Amazon Clinic visit and any prescribed medication?
Amazon Clinic accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, etc.), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) cards. HSA/FSA eligibility is determined by your account administrator.

Amazon Clinic doesn't accept health insurance for visits at this time. You can submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement, but we can’t guarantee they’ll reimburse you.

If you normally use insurance to pay for your medications, you can do that with medications prescribed through Amazon Clinic. Amazon Pharmacy accepts most insurance plans. For other pharmacies, please talk with your pharmacy directly about insurance coverage. The cost of medication isn’t included in the cost of your visit.
How does Amazon Clinic protect my health information?

HIPAA governs what Amazon Clinic and your healthcare providers can do with your medical information, as well as your contact and payment information. Amazon Clinic doesn’t and will never sell your personal information. Learn more on our privacy page.
